A man and woman jumped into a running car, attempting to speed away when they realized the children's father was being dragged as he clung desperately to the car. The father was forced to let go and the carjackers eventually pulled over and left, but the penalties for such criminal offenses as kidnapping or assault are extremely severe. read more

The suspect of a violent carjacking incident hit a newspaper deliveryman over the head with a champagne bottle then took the victim's keys and began driving off in the victim's vehicle. Although the state of Washington does not specifically address the crime of carjacking, this behavior is prosecuted as Robbery which is punishable by up to life in prison and fines as large as $50,000. read more

Seattle murder suspect, Hobert Clark, pled "not guilty" in court to two counts of Murder in the 2nd Degree, Assault, and Illegally Possessing a Firearm. Clark's girlfriend, Christina Kitchens, is wanted for rendering criminal assistance to Clark. The charge of Rendering Criminal Assistance could be punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine as large as $20,000. read more

Earlier this month, a man allegedly stabbed three men in downtown Seattle in what police called an "unprovoked, random attack." Stabbing a person in the state of Washington is charged as Assault with a Deadly Weapon and can be punishable by up to life in prison with fines as large as $50,000. read more
